The NYU Symphony Orchestra is to perform Nicholas' winning entry, Fighting Spirits, in the 2015 NYU Steinhart Film Composition Competition. This wonderful animation by Gene Kim tells the story of two futuristic ballet dancers who must overcome a severe rivalry in order to secure a position at the Royal Ballet. It's Transformers meets Tchaikovsky! Conducted by Jens Georg Bachmann, the program will also feature other student works performed live to film, as well as Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor and Stravinsky's Firebird Suite.
